Quick Picks: Downtown tree lighting, Symphony petting zoo

Tis the season (early!)
Downtown Grand Junction will get a little brighter in honor of the holidays with the Wells Fargo Tree Lighting from 5-7 p.m. at Fourth and Main Streets in front of Wells Fargo.
The lights will twinkle to life at 5:45 p.m. on the Wells Fargo Christmas tree and in the trees along Main Street.
Filling out the evening event is an appearance from Santa, who will visit wiht children, and music from the Barbershop Chorus.
Saturday, Nov. 16
Members of the Grand Junction Symphony Orchestra will bring their musical instruments to a special storytime at 10 a.m. at Mesa County Libraries’ Central Library, 443 N. Sixth St.
There will be a couple stories, a musical demonstration and an instrument petting zoo. Kids and parents are welcome to ask questions as well as touch and play the instruments in the petting zoo.
This is the first of several story/music events at the Central Library. Brass and woodsinds will be featured in a storytime on Feb. 1 and percussion on May 3.
