Yikes! Fright!

Horror flick fans should head to the opening day of the three-day Telluride Horror Show at Sheridan Opera House and Nugget Theatre in Telluride. Nearly 20 feature films and more than 25 shorts all in the horror genre will be shown.

Irish playwright Brian Friel’s show “Dancing at Lughnasa” comes to the Creative Avenues, 835 N. 26th St., as part of The Theatre Project’s adult community theater shows that raise funds to benefit the tuition-free Youth Theatre Project.

The play, which stars several local actors, is about the five unmarried Mundy sisters during the time of the Festival of Lughnasa, a harvest celebration.

Show time is 7:30 p.m. Call 261-5363 to reserve tickets. Seating is limited.

Cost is $15 for adults and $10 for seniors and students.

Lend an ear

 

Listen to the full sounds of the Colorado Mesa University’s choirs during the Fall Choral Concert at 7:30 p.m. in Robinson Theatre in Moss Performing Arts Center, 1231 N. 12th St.

The concert, chamber and women’s choirs will perform. Among the music on the program are two folk arrangements and pieces by Mendelssohn and Schumann.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and $5 for students. Call 248-1604 for ticket information.
