Taste buds rejoice

Mexican food is delicious. Homemade Mexican food is fantastic!

Taste for yourself at Taste of Riverside from 6–9 p.m. Saturday in the Community Building at the Mesa County Fairgrounds.

Along with food made from scratch — appetizers, entree and dessert — there will be cultural booths, live entertainment and a silent auction.

Hit the trail

Kids, walking shoes, bikes, horses are all welcome at Back to the Trail.

The event, set for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, celebrates the National Park Service’s centennial with plenty to do at the Old Spanish National Historic Trail’s Whitewater trailhead.

There will be historian-guided history walking tours, mountain biking and horseback riding options, yoga, centennial celebration cupcakes, guest speakers, drawings for gift certificates to area stores and giveaways.

Parking for the event will be at the Mesa County shops and shuttles will take people to and from the event from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
