Quick Picks: Wall of the Fallen; Mesa County Fair; new album

Fans of metal music will want to put the Wall of the Fallen event on their calendars.
The show includes four bands for $10 at Mesa Theater and Lounge, 538 Main St.
The bands playing are Anchorage, Almost Eden, Violent by Nature and Beyond Prophecies.

Final fair days
Been to the Mesa County Fair yet? The final two days offer numerous 4-H/FFA shows Friday and the popular Mesa County Cattlewomen Barbecue at 11 a.m. Saturday.
Check out Brown’s Amusements rides on either day, plus live music and other entertainment acts.
Admission is $6 for adults, $4 for seniors 65 and older and $2 for children 3–12.
The fair opens at 11 a.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday.

Tuesday, July 23
Indie rockers Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros releases its self-titled third album.
The single “Better Days” off the new album was released in late May by the Los Angeles-based group.
The band’s previous two albums introduced its alternative yet folky sound with songs such as “Home” and “Man On Fire.”
