Catch Absolute Dance’s full-length version of “Cinderella” at 7:30 p.m. in Robinson Theatre at Colorado Mesa University. The ballet, which is a bit different than the famous Disney movie, was choreographed and directed by Absolute Dance ballet master Anthony Noa and features dozens of local dancers of all ages.

Get a never-before-seen glimpse at the sea creature Architeuthis — think sea Kraken from Norse legend or Scylla from Greek mythology — during the season finale of “Curiosity” on Discovery Channel. The episode is titled “Monster Squid: The Giant is Real.”
Late last year, a submersive caught video of the giant squad in its natural habit off the coast of Japan. It was a historical first, according to the Discovery Channel.
According to Jason Robey’s article on dsc.discovery.com, this footage is considered “the Holy Grail of natural history filmmaking.”

Play with metal
For $25, spend a night immersed in heavy metal, death metal and thrash music, with four different bands at Mesa Theater and Lounge, 538 Main St.
The show is headlined by Hatebreed. The band, nominated for a Grammy in 2004, releases its sixth studio album Tuesday, Jan. 29.
In addition to Hatebreed, nationally touring metal bands Shadows Fall, Dying Fetus and The Contortionist will play.
Doors open at 5 p.m., and the show begins at 7 p.m.
