Radical Reels Tour stops in Grand Junction
Armchair adventurers can experience an adrenaline-filled evening of action sports via The Radical Reels Tour.
This event which supports Colorado Canyons Association and Colorado Mesa University scholarships will begin at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6, at Avalon Theatre, 645 Main St. Doors open at 6 p.m.

The films on the tour are from the annual Banff Mountain Film Festival and feature “jaw-dropping bike jumps, nail-biting kayak drops, and mind-blowing powder,” a news release said.
“Experience more than half a dozen wild action sports as seen through the eyes of some of today’s top athletes and most talented adventure sport filmmakers,” the news release said.
The tour stop in Grand Junction will include the following films:
■ “The Fledglings” by filmmaker Cedar Wright — paragliding, adventure, parental guidance (coarse language).
■ “Give Me Five” by filmmaker Arnaud Longobardi — free-falling aerial stunt flyers.
■ “La Liste” by filmmaker Guido Perrini — skiing freerider in the Alps.
■ “Locked In” by Reel Water Productions — kayakers deep in Papua New Guinea’s rainforest, parental guidance.
■ “Not2Bad” by Anthill Films — bike riding in Spain.
■ “Sonnie Trotter vs. the Totem Pole” by filmmaker Cameron Maier — Canadian climbers’ free ascent of the Ewbank Route on The Totem Pole.
■ “Tight Loose: The Tordrillos Foot-Powered Mission” by Teton Gravity Research — skiing/camping in the Alaskan wilderness.
■ “The Trail to Kazbegi” by Joey Schusler — four cyclists head into the highest reaches of the Caucasus Mountains for 10 days (parental guidance).
