Renaissance faire lasts 3 days along river
All are invited, “be ye noble or pirate, dragon or fairy, soldier or saint,” to the Heroes Harvest Festival and Fantasy Faire.
Sponsored by Thunder Mountain Colorado Living Center, the faire will go from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday through Sunday, Oct. 26–28, at 312 29 Road, along the Colorado River.
The event will help those who attend to travel back in time and visit the period village of “Drakestowne” with vendors, activities, competitions, food and strolling and staged entertainment.
Try your hand at knife and hatchet throwing, spear and javelin throwing, see candle-making and spinning, a masonry bread oven and an operational 1/4-scale trebuchet launcher. There will be copper, brass and silver smithing, hand-to-hand combat and live cannon demonstrations.
Then archery tournament — traditional bow only — is open to the public and there will be prizes.
Admission is free.
Three-day inclusive camping passes are available to purchase, offering access to the after-hours village.
