Riverfront Concert Series makes changes, announces first act

The concert series that features bands performing on a stage along the Colorado River at Fruita section of the James M. Robb — Colorado River State Park was funded for many years through a donation and tickets were free.

“As many people know, this funding has run out, and by charging for tickets for this show, the Riverfront Foundation and Commission hope to ensure the future of the Summer Concert Series,” said Paul Nelson of the Colorado Riverfront Foundation in a news release.

Tickets for the July 16 concert are on sale for $45 each and all proceeds go to the commission to support trail projects and the concert series. Tickets may be purchased at area City Market stores and at TicketsWest.com.

Hornsby is the winner of three Grammy Awards and has a diverse style that draws from bluegrass, rock, Motown, classical and more. His hits include “The Way It Is,” “Mandolin Rain” and “Every Little Kiss.”
