Sample more than 30 beers at college festival
More than 30 beers will be available for tasting during the Grand Valley Beer Festival from 1–5 p.m. Saturday, May 21, in the College Center at Mesa State College.
Sixteen regional brewers will offer ales, lagers and specialty beers for palette approval, and judges will select the best. There also will be a people’s choice award voted on by tasters.
Jack+Jill and Project Groove featuring Miss Emily will provide music during the event.
The beer festival is a fundraiser for the Maverick Club, which provides financial support to varsity student athletes, and its scholarship fund.
Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door. Tasters must be 21 years or older. Advance tickets can be purchased at Crossroads Wine and Spirits, at the Maverick Club office, 1450 N. 12th St., and at mesamavs.com.
The first 500 tasters to attend will receive a souvenir tasting glass. Designated drivers and non-tasters will be admitted at no charge.
