Sip, spit, sip, spit this weekend at Colorado Mountain Winefest
Get ready to sip (and spit, if it’s proper tasting) at the 20th annual Colorado Mountain Winefest, which continues Friday through Sunday, Sept. 16–18.
On Friday, Winefest will offer several chef events, the first beginning at noon. The Enstroms Chocolate and Wine Tasting will be from 7:30–9:30 p.m. Friday at the DoubleTree by Hilton.
The Festival in the Park is set for 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Riverbend Park in Palisade. The celebration of food and wine offers samples from 59 wineries, entertainment, chef demonstrations and the opportunity to step barefoot into a barrel to stomp grapes.
General admission to the Festival in the Park is $43 in advance or $50 at the gate. The VIP ticket is $185. Chef demos will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and a seminar on Riedel Glass Tasting will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
In addition to the Festival in the Park, Saturday will feature the 18th annual Bike Tour de Vineyards beginning at 7 a.m. The 25-mile bicycle tour winds through the Palisade area wine country and orchards. Tickets are $40 by Friday and $50 the day of the tour. To register or for information, call 303-635-2815 or go to http://www.tourdevineyards.com.
Colorado Mountain Winefest events conclude Sunday with the “Introduction to Grape Growing” seminar from 9 a.m. to noon at the CSU Agricultural Station in Palisade. Tickets are $45.
