Denver sketch artiist appears at CMU

Listen to a talk by an obsessive sketch artist, Paul Heaston, who has an exhibit of paintings and drawings at the Art Gallery in the University Center at Colorado Mesa University.

Heaston’s talk for “Figures and Sketches” will be at 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, at the gallery. The reception will go from 6–8 p.m. Admission is free.

The Denver-based artist “paints and draws his immediate surroundings, from the people with whom he interacts to buildings and streets,” according to a news release.

He has kept a sketchbook since 2007 and actually “spent six months in 2008–9 meticulously drawing every building in downtown Bozeman, Montana in a pocket-sized sketchbook,” the news release said.

Heaston is an a correspondent for Urban Sketchers (urbansketchers.org) and keeps a blog named Three Letter Word for Art.
