Soul Train party to raise funds for KAFM

DJs will spin funk, soul and disco, beginning at 8 p.m. Friday, April 12, at Mesa Theater and Lounge, 538 Main St. Doors will open at 7:30 p.m.

Dig through your closets (or your mom’s and dad’s) and plan to dress up in a funky costume — platform boots, polyester and glitter — yeah, you’re looking cool.

Pick your partner and polish your funkster dance moves because at 10 p.m. there will be a soul dance-off contest, and you and your partner could win the title of King and Queen of Soul Dance.

Live DJs spinning at the party are Skip Naft, DJ Stangefellow, Goe Goe featuring the , and Dusty Thunders. Lights and visuals provided by Fix Your Face Radio.

The event is for ages 18 and older. Tickets cost $10 and are available in advance at KAFM Radio Studios, 1310 Ute Ave., as well as Mesa Theater, Mad Margaret’s, Planet Earth and the 4 Directions Gallery, Triple Play Records and Copper Club Brewing Co. in Fruita.
