Splashy finale set for Powderhorn last-day party
Make a splash this weekend at Powderhorn Ski Resort.
The resort is hosting its second Pond Skim during the closing day party on Sunday.
It’s just what it sounds like: the daring opportunity to ski or board across a 90-foot ice- and water-filled pond.
“A Pond Skim is a ski industry tradition,” said Sarah Allen, the resort’s marketing and communications director. “There’s something about watching people attempt ridiculous stunts on skis and boards. It’s just good entertainment.”
Lifts will run from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. and the pond skim ($15 to enter and T-shirt) starts at 5:30. Entries are limited to 45 fun-loving participants so register early.
