Sweet Adelines will give whole story of ‘ ‘Twas the Night ...’

Leslie Boyd, shown here during a rehearsal, will play the part of Mrs. Santa during the Grand Mesa Chorus Sweet Adelines’ “‘Twas the Night ...” on Sunday, Dec. 4

Perhaps there’s more to the story of what happened on the night before Christmas than we realize.

Children’s choirs, elves and Santa Claus will join the Grand Mesa Chorus Sweet Adelines for “‘Twas the Night ...” that will fill audiences in on the rest of the story.

” ‘Twas the Night ...” will be performed at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, in the Recital Hall of Colorado Mesa University’s Moss Performing Arts Center, 1231 N. 12th St.

The Grand Mesa Chorus and Quartets will sing favorite Christmas music and a guest choir of third grade students from Orchard Avenue Elementary School will perform.

The concert also will feature solos by the two winners of the Sweet Adelines Scholarships, Teri Heffner and Carolyn Sampson, both vocal music majors at Colorado Mesa.

Tickets cost $10 for adults and $8 for seniors and students. Children ages 5 and younger get in free. Tickets are general seating and can be purchased at Party Land, City Market stores, from any Grand Mesa Chorus member and at the door.

Santa Claus and the Say Cheeeze Photo Booth will be available before and after shows. The cost per photo is $10 for a 4x6-inch photo.

Photo booth hours will be noon to 1:45 p.m., one hour after the 2 p.m. show, and 5:45–6:45 p.m. Sunday.
