Talent show, melodrama highlight Paonia Cherry Days
If life is the pits, Paonia’s the place to be.
Paonia’s Cherry Days festival will be celebrated Friday through Monday, July 1–4, at several venues in Paonia.
Paonia’s Got Talent Show is set for 8 p.m. Friday, July 1, at The Paradise Theater, 215 Grand Ave. Advance tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for kids. Day-of-show tickets are $20 for adults and $17 for kids.
The Cherry Days Melodrama “The Pony Expresso or ... The Villain Came to a Grinding Halt,” will be performed by the Paonia Players at 3 p.m. Friday through Monday, July 1–4, at The Paradise Theatre. Billed as “hilarious,” the play tells the story of two coffee shop owners who take on the evil chaos that comes to town. Advance tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for ages younger than 12. Day-of-show tickets are $12 for adults and $7 for ages younger than 12.
Also on tap for the celebration is a carnival, entertainment in the gazebo, a cherry cobbler and ice cream event at noon Saturday, July 2; beer and wine tasting garden, a community barbecue with Friends Church at 11 a.m. Sunday, July 3; a parade from 10 a.m. to noon on Monday, July 4, rodeo events and much more.
