The Art Center’s main fundraiser features numerous items
It is time for the largest and most important fundraising event of The Art Center’s year: the US Bank Fine Art Auction.
The auction begins at 5 p.m. Friday, May 3, with a reception, preview and silent auction (with fine art and other items) at The Art Center, 1803 N. Seventh St.
The live auction will begin at 7 p.m.
Among the artists featured this year are landscape painter Dan Young, plein air watercolorist Buffalo Kaplinski and Western Colorado clay artist Sara Ransford.
For the first time, three artists in their 20s will participate together in the auction. Those artists are Ashtonn Means, Bhreon Bynum and Matthew Jones.
A complete list of participating artists can be found at gjartcenter.org.
The event will include live music from Widowmaker, a talk about art’s role in missions and community from guest speaker and local artist Dianna Fritzler and a tapas bar from The Art Center Guild. Beer and wine will be for sale at a cash bar.
Tickets cost $20 and are available at The Art Center or by calling 243-7337, ext. 2.
Proceeds from the event’s silent and live auctions support The Art Center’s education and exhibition programming.
Absentee bidder forms are available by calling The Art Center.
