GET OUT FOR HALLOWEEN

Out & About’s Entertainment Calendar has details on the many Halloween and harvest-related events planned in the area. Halloween is Monday, Oct. 31.

The town of Palisade will host epic harvest and Halloween celebrations at two locations on Friday, Oct. 28, featuring family activities, fun and food.

Trick or Treat Street and Touch a Truck will be from 3–5 p.m. Friday in downtown Palisade. Kids can trick-or-treat at downtown businesses and check out a variety of utility trucks, fire trucks, police squad cars, dump trucks, a back hoe, tractors, classic trucks and more (even the Oscar Meyer Weinermobile).

After the Trick or Treat Street adventure, pile everyone into the car and head to Riverbend Park for Harvest Fest, which will go from 5–9 p.m. Friday. Admission is $5 per car load.

Harvest Fest will have a pet parade, bonfire, free family games, food vendors, a DJ and dancing, and the Mario Kart Half Mile. Some entry fees will apply. Rules and regulations can be found at townofpalisade.org.

Drop off pre-carved jack-o’-lanterns from 5–6:30 p.m. for Harvest Fest’s carving contest. There are four categories: scariest jack, silliest jack, most creative jack and best movie theme jack.

Dress your dog and enter it in the pet parade and costume contest. There are categories for best dog team, best dog-owner duo, scariest dog costume, most original costume, cutest dog costume and most comical. Registration begins at 5 p.m., followed by judging and the parade at 5:30 p.m. Entries cost $3 per dog or $8 per dog team.

Free family games will go from 6–8:30 p.m. and a DJ will spin dance tunes from 6–9 p.m. Call 464-5602 or go to townofpalisade.org for information.
