Voices of Veterans concert on Saturday at Avalon Theatre
The voices of veterans and others will be heard during the Veteran Art Center’s variety show, happening at 6 p.m. Saturday, July 1, at the Avalon Theatre, 645 Main St.
The Voices of Veterans Independence Day Concert will feature a number of veteran and military folks performing and singing, variety show-style. Some of those scheduled to perform in the program are Patrick Metoyer, Linda Bishop, Wally Jackson, Max Bardell, Maverick ‘Mak’ Kuemmet and more, a news release said.
The veteran entertainers will be followed by the minstrel music of John Winn, and country songs by Jim Moran. The Modern Jazz Duo, a neo-classic jazz ensemble with Lynn Sampson on trumpet, will perform, followed by local rock and roll band No Outlet closing the show.
The concert is free to veterans, however a ticket will be needed. General admission is $5 and includes a raffle ticket. Additional raffle tickets are $5 each or five for $20, which includes a ticket to the show. All tickets can be purchased at the Veterans Art Center, 307 S. 12th St.
