Fruita studio hosts youth art show

Watercolor Dogs Art Studio in Fruita will host the Youth Art Show from 6–7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 20, featuring all the entries from the studio that were submitted to the 2014 National Western Stock Show’s Youth Art Show.

Numerous students from Watercolor Dogs Art Studio, 145 N. Mesa St., were named Grand Champion and Reserve Champion at the National Western Stock Show’s Youth Art Show in January in Denver

There will be food, fun and art on hand at the show, including these winning works by area student artists:

Grand Champions: Gabriella Genova, second grade, “Horseland”; Abby Hassler, third grade, “Elk in the Aspens”; Micah Montag, third grade, “Stalking Fish”; Lucy Hassler, fifth grade, “Grandpa’s Duck”; Chloe Schrader, sixth grade, “All in a Day’s Work”; Daniel Lastine, seventh grade, “Magic of Adam’s”; JT McLaughlin, 10th grade, “Swimmin”; Jenna Oleson, 10th grade, “Open Range”; and Svea-Adina Schonbeck, 11th grade, “Night Mare.”

Reserve Champions: Carlie Lastine, second grade, “Hollywood Legacy”; Isaac Barber, second grade, “3-D Cat”; Lillian Berry, third grade, “Monarch Valley”; Matthew Lastine, fourth grade, “Sun Bathing Lizard”; Jenna Moores, sixth grade, “Dallas’ Blue Ribbon”; Taylor Wilkie, seventh grade, “Good Dog”; Drake Josey, ninth grade, “Prove Me Wrong”; and James Wilkie, ninth grade, “Copper.”
