‘Zen Cowboy’ Chuck Pyle to display his versatility at Unity Church on Oct. 3

Chuck Pyle

While he’s called the “Zen Cowboy,” Chuck Pyle shouldn’t be stereotyped. His lyrics and musicality are just too versatile for one moniker.

See and hear for yourself at 10:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 3, at Unity Church, 3205 N. 12th St.

The morning concert is part of the regular Sunday morning service.

Tickets for the evening concert are $15 and will be sold at the door.

Pyle is known for his finger-style approach to guitar and his songs have been recorded by musicians such as John Denver, Chris LeDoux and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.

He toured with Steve Martin in the 1970s — “His material was psychological and somewhat literary” — and was asked to be part of Bill and Melinda Gates’ 10th wedding anniversary celebration.
