Mesa County Sheriff’s Deputy shot in Fruitvale

Deputies were called to the 500 block of Fruitvale Court at 11:06 a.m. on a report of a man walking with a gun and heading south toward E Road. A deputy responded to the scene and was shot. He was taken to the hospital. His condition is unknown. A suspect has been taken into custody for the shooting of a male Mesa County sheriff’s deputy in Pear Park this morning.

4:30 p.m. Sunday causing all District 51 schools to be canceled.

Cops corral loose horses after chase

Grand Junction Police officers pursued three horses on the loose on Northridge Drive after the horses were reported galloping west on Patterson Road from Seventh Street Wednesday afternoon. Officers finally corralled the horses on the drive after a chase through the Northridge subdivision, and the owner led them home.
