Chipeta Day celebration
Hundreds turned out for the 2010 Chipeta Day celebration at the Ute Indian museum in Montrose. Saturday’s festivities consisted of a large variety of Native American events and dances. Chipeta Day began in 2002 as a way to honor the legacy of Chipeta, once the wife of Chief Ouray.
