Hiking the expansive Grand Staircase-Escanlante National Monument in southeast Utah. President Clinton designated the area as a U.S. National Monument in 1996. It is divided into three distinct sections: the Grand Staircase, the Kaiparowits Plateau, and the Canyons of the Escalante. and is managed by the BLM.
