A Grand Junction man remained in custody Sunday after he was arrested a day earlier on suspicion of stabbing another man.
Calvin Ahkeah, 26, 1021 Teller Ave., could face charges of first-degree assault and making a false report to authorities.
A judge Sunday set his bond at $60,000.
Police who arrived at Ahkeah’s apartment late Friday night said both Ahkeah and the victim, 37-year-old Henry John Trilser Jr., lied about what happened and claimed Trilser had been hurt during a robbery at the apartment.
In fact, police say, the two got into an argument and Ahkeah stabbed Trilser in the chest.
Police said the two men are roommates, although an incident report lists a Fruita address for Trilser.
Trilser, who could also face a charge of making a false report, was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital.
No other information about the incident or about Trilser’s condition was available Sunday. Police said an arrest affidavit in the case wouldn’t be available until today.
