U.S. Rep. John Salazar, D-Colo., remained a listed supporter of the public option for health care on a Web site operated by Howard Dean, the former chairman of the Democratic National Committee.
Salazar’s name appeared on the list of supporters of the public option as the result of a letter from the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, of which Salazar is a member, Mary Rickles of Democracy for America said in an e-mailed response to the Sentinel.
“We then — in every single case — called their offices and verified the answer,” Rickles wrote.
Democracy for America is the umbrella organization set up by Howard Dean, a physician, former Vermont governor and former chairman of the Democratic National Committee. One of its arms is the www.standwithDrDean.com site, which advocates for the public option.
Republicans last week pointed to Salazar’s appearance on the Web site, along with four other Democrat representatives from Colorado, as proof that Salazar was a backer of the so-called public option for health insurance.
“Any implication that the congressman has signed anything of the sort is nothing but a lie,” Wortman replied to a question about the Dean Web site.
Salazar’s office didn’t respond immediately to a question as to whether officials had asked to be removed from the Dean site.
Salazar told The Daily Sentinel in September that he would support a public option “if it’s the only way to pass reform.”

Y'all are exactly where we need to be: looking to the next election. However, if I might suggest, there are things that can be done before then: Write, email and call your senators and congressman and DEMAND that they honor the vows they took when they came into office: to defend and preserve the Constitution.
These healthcare measures are all unconstitutional. It's really that easy.
Remind these Communists that they work for you. Not the other way around.
Do not underestimate the impact that a few thousand letters will have on the lap dogs--uh I mean blue dogs like Salazar. Even a Marxist wants to get reelected.
Oh, I have a tin foil hat already: I got it from Daily Kos. ;-)

One third of the Senate is up for election every two years (for six year terms).

Folks, the reality of the situation is that Democrats have finally gotten what they have lusted after for most of our lifetimes, full control of the American government. We are all guilty for allowing that to happen, but whinning and sniviling will not repair the damage.
In only 12 months, November 2010, the next election will be happening. All House of Representatives members and half of the Senate are up for reelection. If you do not like the direction your country is headed, don't sit on your couches and watch the evening news as things get worse. Get out there in your commuities, county and state and find some candidates that reflect the values you believe in. Help these people with their campaigns, get out the vote and let's send the Obama Marxists back to oblivion. The Trillion dollar question is, do you really want to take back your country, or is this disatisfaction just a temporary knee jerk reaction? Many God Bless America.

And why does it surprise anyone. He's no different than the rest of the "Hate America First Crowd" It seems their sole goal is to destroy this once great republic. We already have government bank inc and government motors. Might as well destroy the greatest health care in the world as witnessed by the rest of the world coming here to be treated. Wake up real Americans and vote them out in 2010 and 2012 unless the socialist suspends the constitution which wouldnęt surprise me at all.

Dear Conservative Lion:
May I interest you in a state of the art patriot helmet? It reflects all types of commie thought control rays from their secret satellites. It also provides immunity to the fluoride they've been using to gradually feminize the men of this once great country. It repels bullets from black helicopters, and causes you to be untraceable by the third international KGB parasites that all true Americans have had implanted under their skin. The helmet is made out of a top quality alloy with both a shiny side and a matte side, to compliment any finish of assault rifle you might wish to carry with it. Don't believe the people who tell you it's only made of tin foil! They're ignorant communist pinko spies.
It's actually aluminum.

Figures:
Compassion as a strong suit: you communists sure understand that: 30 million dead in the socialist paradise known as the USSR: 70 million in the Maoist China, the same Mao that the administration's people love. 17 million in NAZI Germany. To this day, it is a crime to disagree with the communist governments in Cuba, China. To this day, people are SHOT IN THE HEAD for preaching Christianity in China. You think this is what you want? How about if we get you on the first plane to Cuba? You can go live there and have all the gruel you want. You can even have your own little flat, complete with a comprehensive health care plan.
I'll tell you what compassion is: donating out of your own pocket OF YOUR OWN FREE WILL to charities and foundations that provide free market solutions to healthcare and poverty issues. Conservatives are the largest single block of donators to causes such as these.
Before you mindlessly spout the party line, do a little research.
Heil Obama!

and your point is??? the public option is really not the answer-single payer is. Just ask the millions of Americans bankrupt by health cost, getting sicker and sicker due to lack of health care, or the ER docs overwhelmed by people flooding their emergency rooms because that's the only way they can get treatment. But then compassion is/was never a strong suit of the conservative moral majority. Being poor, having limited abilities, or simply being dealt a crapping hand in the game of life is a character flaw and if the individual can't overcome it, they deserve their miserable existence. After all , their not true Americans anyway..... right??

he's trying to balance standing with democrats and getting done what he really believes and fooling his constituency into believing that he doesn't support the public option.
