A 42-year-old Pear Park woman, Crystal Nash, died after a shooting in the 3000 block of Rood Avenue early Sunday, according to the Mesa County Coroner’s Office.
The Coroner’s Office did not release the manner and cause of Nash’s death because the investigation by the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department is ongoing.
The Sheriff’s Department has said one person died and another was injured in a shooting on the block early Sunday morning.
The name of the injured person and the circumstances surrounding the incident have not been released. Police are not looking for a suspect, and no one has been arrested in connection with the shooting.
Police all day Sunday were investigating the area outside of 3007 Rood Ave.
Neighbors said they witnessed numerous people attending a Halloween party at the address and shots were fired at 2:20 a.m. Sunday.
According to the Mesa County Assessor’s Office, the home at 3007 Rood Ave. is owned by James Jarvis, and the home across the street at 438 Colorow Drive is owned by Forrest and Crystal Nash.
Neighbors in the area said Monday that residents of both homes and a man named “Tom” at 3007 Rood Ave. had a history of bickering with one another.
In the past five years, the Sheriff’s Department has responded once to both homes.
In March 2007, deputies took a report of harassment from a resident in the home at 3007 Rood Ave.
In September 2008, deputies took a report of theft from a resident in the home at 438 Colorow Drive.

I am proud of my cousin for protecting his family from a crazy drug and alcohol induced people. It is sad that things like this happen, no one deserves to die. When you are involved with drugs bad things are going to happen to you eventually. The women had no right to do what she did even though she was not in the right frame of mind.

Crystal was on my mind for many years she helped me with a childhood issue and if it wasn't for her i would have never been able to get through. I did so many things with her in my childhood she was 27 when i was 12 and i have always looked for her to thank her for everything she did for me i am so deeply saddened to have to be writing this online but i loved her very much even tough she didn't get to know me... i love you Crystal R.I.P.

I feel so bad for all involved. Alcohol always and forever will lead people to make bad judgement calls. If someone was banging on my door with a .45 I probably would of called the police but at the same time started shooting out some knee caps. What a sad situation for all parties involved and hopefully the retaliation will not lead to even worse circumstances. I'm praying for all families involved.

I forgot to ask, how many times can you shoot someone and it's okay? Once, twice?? If she was shot only once I supposed that would been okay?

There is no crime in this wonderful place. That would be the common knowledge of any one that lives here. This is a horific event that should have never taken place, and in my opinion some one should be locked up until a investigation is resolved, Maybe he hates some of his other nieghbors too. Sorry its too much for me to absorb he shot her how many times???Why? Where is the justice?
