Smoker Friendly robbed

A man wielding a knife got away with cash from Smoker Friendly, 2692 U.S. Highway 50, about 7 p.m. Saturday night.

Officers with the Grand Junction Police Department were seeking a suspect described as a white male in his 30s, about 6 feet tall, weighing about 170 pounds and wearing a dark-colored coat with a hoodie covering his head.

An employee at the business reported first being struck by the suspect. The employee was not injured in the incident.

The suspect left with an undisclosed amount of money, the Police Department said.


According to the Grand Junction Police Department:

■ Robert Leighton, 62, threatened a citizen with a handgun Dec. 20 near the 1500 block of Elm Avenue.

■ A window valued at $1,500 was broken Friday at 2401 North Ave.

■ Brenda Goff, 21, received a summons on suspicion of stealing items valued at less than $100 from Walmart, 2881 North Ave.

■ Johnathan O’Connor, 25, received a summons Saturday on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs in the 2300 block of North Avenue.


The Mesa County Sheriff’s Department did not release an activity log or an arrest report on Sunday.
