Quilt show in Battlement Mesa

A “Centennial Memory Quilt” commemorating the 100th anniversary of the town of Parachute will be featured next weekend at the Grand Valley Quilt Show at the historic Battlement Mesa Schoolhouse, 7235 300 Road.

Made by Town Council Trustee Judi Hayward, the quilt shows historical sites and buildings printed on fabric, along with an appliqued parachute.

After the show, Hayward’s quilted wall hanging will be displayed at Town Hall in Parachute.

The quilt show and schoolhouse tour, scheduled Sept. 27–28, is co-sponsored for the second year by the Grand Valley Historical Society and Battlement Mesa Sew & Sew Quilters.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and noon to 3 p.m. Sunday. A $3 donation is suggested.

For information, call Monty Rhodes, 285-6100.
