Vigil to remember Roe v. Wade decision
• The Mesa County Right to Life will sponsor a candlelight vigil at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Mesa County Courthouse. The vigil will remember those affected by the Roe v. Wade decision. County Commissioner Craig Meis will be the guest speaker. A chili dinner will follow at St. Joseph’s Parish Hall.
Catholic Schools Week events planned
• Holy Family Catholic School and the local parishes will celebrate Catholic Schools Week Jan. 25-31. The week’s events will include a spelling bee, special Mass, Grandparents Day, a talent show and an ice cream social. For information, call 242-6168.
Scandinavian dinner to be Jan. 24
• Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, 3133 F Road, will have a Scandinavian Smorgasbord dinner Jan. 24. Seating times are at 1:30 p.m., 3 p.m., or 4:30 p.m. Adult tickets are $15 and children eat for $5. The public is welcome. For information, call 434-3119.
Trip to India to be part of open house
• The Asanga Buddhist Meditation Center, 137 N. Mesa, will have an open house from 1 to 3 p.m. on Jan. 24. Spiritual director Geshe Ngawang Phuntsok will discuss his recent trip to India.
