■Kathy “Duck” Barnes, 57, Whitewater, died Feb. 24, 2012.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Robert “Bob,” two sons, Mike of Whitewater and Paul E. of Fort Worth, Texas; one daughter, Joeleen Westbrook of Claude, Texas; three brothers, Dean Scales and Bob Scales, both of Whitewater, and Bill Scales of Hotchkiss; and seven grandchildren.

■ Robert Bruce Elkins, 63, Fruita, died Feb. 16, 2012, at Hospice Care Center.

Burial will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver with services to follow at 11 a.m. at Cherry Hills Community Church Chapel.

Survivors include one son, Joshua of Englewood; one daughter, Brooke Johnson of Highlands Ranch; three brothers, William L. of Eckert, Don of Denver and Mike of Cottonwood, Ariz.; one sister, Kathleen Clark of Englewood; and two grandchildren.

■ John Norman Leacock, 58, Fruita, died Feb. 23, 2012, at Hospice Care Center.

Services will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary.

Mr. Leacock was a landman for the oil and gas industry.

Survivors include his wife, Sara; one son, Luis A. Castanon of Tooele, Utah; two daughters, Marisol Leacock of San Diego and Cristy Ramierz of Grand Junction; his parents, Darrell and Patty Leacock of Columbus, Neb.; and two brothers, Darrell A. of Lincoln, Neb., and Randy of Grand Junction.

■ Sarah “Bonnie” Jane Scholes, 69, Palisade, died Feb. 24, 2012, at her home.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary.

She was an executive secretary.

Survivors include one son, Mark of Palisade; two daughters, Kris Lenzini of Wiggins and Kelly Lovegrove of Thornton; one brother, Gary Boynton of Franktown; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

■ Dale N. Smith, 73, Grand Junction, died Feb. 24, 2012, at Hospice Care Center.

No services are planned.

Mr. Smith was an accountant and the business owner of Smith, Lurvey & Co.

Survivors include his wife, Alice M.; one daughter, Valerie Douglas of Evergreen; and one sister, Carol J. Smith of Harbor Springs, Mich.

■ David O. Sundal, 82, Grand Junction, died Feb. 18, 2012, at his home.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Church of the Nativity.

Mr. Sundal was a chemist.

Survivors include one sister, Faith James of Grand Junction.

■ Lillian L. Tuin, 93, Hotchkiss, died Feb. 23, 2012, at her home.

Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday, with services to follow at 2 p.m. at the Friends Church in Paonia. Interment will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Survivors include three sons, Lon of Marion, Ind., Jan of Hotchkiss and Van of Paonia; two daughters, Sherry Perkins of Hotchkiss and Sandee Ross of Phelan, Calif.; 15 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
