Gary Edward Anderson, 57, Grand Junction, died Dec. 21, 2009, in Delta. A celebration of his life will be held May 22, 2010, in Delta. For time and location and to RSVP, call 874-9233.

Survivors include two daughters, Elissa Nye and Julia Donohoue, both of Rifle; his parents, Horace and Ruth; two sisters, Joyce and Debra, both of Delta; and two grandchildren.

Lucille Violet Auth Howell, 101, Grand Junction, died May 2, 2010, at her home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Western Colorado Botanical Gardens.

Mrs. Howell was a homemaker.

Survivors include two daughters, Ruth Kendrick and Mariene Hoskin, both of Grand Junction; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

Eursel L. Van Tassel, 83, Delta, died May 10, 2010, at Delta County Memorial Hospital. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Taylor Funeral Service Chapel in Delta.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara; one son, Douglas of Delta; two daughters, Sharon Briscoe of Patoka, Ill., and Sandy Tolka of Delta; one brother, Ralph of Visalia, Calif.; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Peter Joseph “Pete” Velasquez, 57, Delta, died May 9, 2010, at his home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Delta. Burial will be at Delta City Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Carla Jo; four daughters, Renee Romero and Stacy Velasquez, both of Delta, Jacqueline Velasquez of Colorado Springs and Janaya Every of Aurora; his parents, Grace and Adolph Mora of Montrose; two brothers, Ernie and Roman, both of Delta; six sisters, Marina Martinez and Cora and Priscilla Velasquez, all of Delta, Lucy Archuleta of Salt Lake City, Nettie Grajeda of Montrose and Amy Kissner of Cedaredge; three stepbrothers, Joseph Mora of Olathe, Lloyd Mora of Montrose and Leroy Mora of Gunnison; two stepsisters, Lydia Carreno of Goshen, Utah, and Darlene Mora of Montrose; and one grandchild.

Erma Ann Weaver, 82, Grand Junction, died May 8, 2010, at The Residence at Grand Mesa. Visitation will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Estate Funeral Home in Salt Lake City. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Weaver was a homemaker.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary Strecker and Ruth Covert, both of Grand Junction; two sisters, Leona Mayfield of Salt Lake City and Edna King of Layton, Utah; six grandchildren and; 12 great-grandchildren.
