Ruth Linda Granat, 67, Palisade, died Oct. 2, 2009, at Hospice Care Center.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Palisade United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Memorial Gardens.

Ms. Granat was a teacher.

Survivors include her mother, Violet L. Granat of Palisade, and two brothers, Roger and Gary, both of Palisade.

Memorials to Eastern Star Chapter 90 in Palisade or Hospice & Palliative Care of Western Colorado, 3090B North 12th St., Grand Junction 81506.

Shireen Rai Quintana, 53, Grand Junction, died Oct. 2, 2009, at St. Mary’s Hospital.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, followed by burial at Calvary Cemetery.

Ms. Quintana was an artist.

She is survived by her father, Edward J. of Grand Junction.

David D. Reed, 84, Battlement Mesa, died Sept. 30, 2009, at E Dene Moore Care Center in Rifle.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the historical Battlement Mesa School House, 7235 County Road 300, in Battlement Mesa.

Mr. Reed was an advertising salesman.

Survivors include his two daughters, Hope Atkinson of Coffeyville, Kan., and Rachel Reed of Battlement Mesa; his sister, Connie McClellan of Harvard, Mass., and one grandchild.

Memorials to Alpine Hospice or the 10th Mountain Division Foundation, 133 S. Van Gordon St., Suite 200, Lakewood 80228.

Lester Wayne Rich, 76, Grand Junction, died Oct. 2, 2009, at Lake Powell, Utah.

Services are planned at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary with interment at Memorial Gardens Cemetery. For information on date and times, call the funeral home at 243-2450.

Mr. Rich was a driller.

Survivors include his wife, Alice; one son, Michael of Nucla; three daughters, Shellie Mockli of Salt Lake City, Rebecca Fletcher of Napa, Calif. and Karen Hazen of Amarillo, Texas; one sister, Troy Scitern of Gorman, Texas; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

James “Jim” Ray Short, 44, Grand Junction, died Oct. 3, 2009, at his home.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary.

Mr. Short was a truck driver.

Survivors include his wife, Debra; one daughter, Bobi of Grand Junction, one brother, Newton Henderson of Wisconsin, five sisters, Mary Gallob of Kansas, Marilyn Menapee of Cedaredge, Carol Quarles of Fruita, Joan Carpenter of Palisade and Emma Adamson of Clifton; and one grandchild.

Memorials to Hospice & Palliative Care of Western Colorado,  3090B North 12th St., Grand Junction 81506, or the Grand Valley Retriever Club.
