Commenting is not available in this channel entry. Now we have the “Leany Agenda”? Since when do board members dictate curriculum. I think Mr. Leany has poured too many cups of coffee and not spent enough time in classrooms to know what the curriculum is regardless of subject matter. It is NOT the role of board members to bring their personal beliefs to educational professionals who work tirelessly in committees to ensure there is collaboration to meet state standards. This includes but is not limited to choosing classroom materials including textbooks.
I think Mr. Leany has his head in the sand if he thinks the curriculum does not talk about America and the privileges afforded its citizens.
The bottom line is professional educators are in place to make those decisions not a board member serving a term attempting to influence an entire district based on his personal beliefs. Secondly, cost alone will make it prohibitive.
