Little black dress

The little black dress is one of the most versatile items in a woman’s wardrobe. Dressed up or down, it can take a lady from work to a weekend morning at the cafe to an evening out.

Starting with a black, A-line skater dress ($26) from Charlotte Russe in Mesa Mall, this LBD begins its day at work.

AT WORK

Paired with an oxblood blazer ($25), 40-denier black tights ($6), black and white ankle-strap pumps ($20) and a gold necklace with black pendant ($5) and gold bracelet and earrings ($5 each), the LBD is a perfect foundation for a stylish office look.

A NIGHT OUT

Trade the blazer for a cropped bomber jacket ($25) and the pumps for platform leopard-print heels ($20), and add a gold chain belt ($5) and tiered green-and-gold necklace ($5). It’s the same LBD, but now the look is edgy and fun.

ON THE WEEKEND

For a casual look, pair the LBD with a fitted, cropped blazer ($25), black boot socks ($5) and tall tan boots ($42). Complete the look with a knitted beanie ($5) and tie on a fun scarf ($9.99), and the LBD is ready for brunch or a morning of shopping.

— All looks are from Charlotte Russe and were styled by store manager Amy Bautista.
