Cinco de Mayo organizers seek vendors

The annual Cinco de Mayo celebration has been set for May 14 on Colorado Avenue, between Sixth and Seventh streets.

Organizers have put out a call for vendors of food, crafts, ceramics, informational, games and clothing.

The celebration will include musicians, singers, Folklorico dancers, a jalapeño eating contest and street dance.

College faculty plan conference performances

Two Mesa State College music faculty members were invited to perform at two upcoming conferences.

In August, Adam Ballif will perform at the International Clarinet Association Convention at the University of California—Northridge.

Ballif will perform “Shadow Boxing” for clarinet and computer controlled electronics.

Mary Lindsey Bailey, oboist, will perform at the International Double Reed Society Conference set for May 31 through June 4 in Tempe, Ariz.

Palisade art show calls for entries

Palisade Art Lovers have put out a call for entries for its 31st annual Peach Blossom Art Show that will be April 14–17 at the Palisade Veterans Memorial Community Center, 120 W. Eighth St., in Palisade.

College students invited to show artwork

Mesa State College and Western Colorado Community College students are invited to show their artwork at the 35th annual Juried Student Art Show from March 25 through April 8.

Any student enrolled in the colleges during the 2010–11 school year is eligible to enter artwork.
