GJ VB coach Vines resigns

Leslie Vines has left her head volleyball coaching position at Grand Junction High School after three seasons with the Tigers.

Vines was 21-45 during her coaching career with the Tigers, but provided the program some stability, Grand Junction athletic director Ned Pollert said.

“I want to say we’ve had five coaches in 10 years, so getting her for three was something that helped get things turned around as far as some stability,” Pollert said.

Grand Junction is accepting applications for the open position until Jan. 7.

Pollert said Vines left in part to spend more time with family.

“She took a new job last year, and she’s a single-parent mom with two little boys,” Pollert said. “So, being able to spend enough time with her kids and her new job hours, there just weren’t enough hours in the day.”

Applicants can send a letter of interest and resume to Pollert at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address). For questions, call Pollert at 245-6919.
