Natural Grocers offers lectures on healthy eating

Natural Grocers, 2464 U.S. Highway 6&50 offers free lecture opportunities this week.

Lectures are open to the public and always free, and there is seating for 19 people.

■  Friday, Sept. 23 — Toxins in Your Food, Sponsored by Wellness For a Lifetime. Learn what legal food additives are known toxins (some carcinogens) and what to eat instead for more optimum health.

■  Sept. 24 — Fall in Love with Organics, by Dustin McFarland, sponsored by Natural Grocers. Organics are becoming more and more popular, and rightly so.

There are many reasons to love organics — pesticide-free, non-GMO, nutrient-dense, good for the planet and good for you. Get inspired and sample organic produce.

Birth and Baby Expo planned Oct. 8 downtown

 

Primary Care Partners will sponsor a Birth and Baby Expo on Saturday, Oct. 8, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the SpringHill Suites, 236 Main St. in downtown Grand Junction. Admission is free.

■ 10:15 a.m. to 11 a.m. — Pregnancy Nutrition and Exercise: Empowered mamas know keeping their birth options open means staying healthy.

■  11:15 a.m. to 12 p.m. — Creating Your Ultimate Birth Experience: Listen to a panel of empowered mothers who have given birth in a variety of ways, including home birth, unmedicated birth in the hospital, hypno-birth and epidural birth.

■  12:15 p.m. to 1 p.m. — Postpartum: The Fourth Trimester: Listen to a panel of postpartum support professionals discuss ways that you can prepare to thrive after your baby is born.

■  1:15 p.m. to 2 p.m. — Painless Birth Experience: No matter what you believe about birth, there is a pain management method perfect for you. Learn about both unmedicated and medicated methods to have a comfortable birth.
