Gluten Free Grand Valley sets meeting
Gluten Free Grand Valley will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Masonic Center at 2400 Consistory Court.
Tycee Belcastro of Tycee Belcastro Counseling will be this month’s guest speaker. She will discuss the emotional part of coping with Celiac disease and gluten intolerance. Samples of gluten-free Nick-n-Willy’s Pizza slices will be provided.

Ceremony to honor nurses at CMU
Seats are available for the 2013 Nightingale Award for Human Caring event Saturday in the Colorado Mesa University Center Ballroom.
The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. Twenty-eight nominees from western Colorado will be honored for compassionate nursing practices and for their contributions to the profession. The event will include a reception, dinner, and music by David and Tamara Hauze, plus a silent auction that will benefit a Colorado Nurses Association scholarship fund and an inspirational message from Donna Strickland.

Win a chance for Gateway air tours
For every $750 a person raises for premature birth-awareness organization March of Dimes Western Slope, the person will get a chance to enter a drawing to win a tour with Gateway Canyons Air Tours.
One family team will be awarded a one-hour scenic air tour with Gateway Canyons Air Tours in an airplane that seats up to seven passengers. One corporate team will win a half-hour tour in a helicopter built for up to five passengers.

Health-info tech conference in April
The 2013 Meaningful Use and Health Information Technology Innovation Conference will take place from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. April 26 at Two Rivers Convention Center, 159 Main St.
The conference agenda includes discussion of integrating health information technology into a medical practice, how technology and HIPAA interact, and an update on the state insurance exchange. Dr. Donald Nease Jr. will provide the morning keynote address. Nease is an associate professor and vice chair for research in the University of Colorado-Denver’s Family Medicine Department and the director of State Networks of Colorado Ambulatory Practices and Partners.
Certified nurse aide class starts in June
High school students interested in a class to become a certified nurse aide can register for a summer CNA course from June 2 to June 23.
