Fundraiser for cancer patients slated

The Valley View Hospital Foundation will host the second-annual Rally the Valley, a fundraising event for cancer patients, starting at 8:30 a.m. Sept. 21.

The event, which takes place at Sayre Park, 1798 Grand Ave., in Glenwood Springs, raises money to provide resources and services to support patients at the Calaway Young Cancer Center.

The event raised more than $300,000 last year from donors who rode bicycles, walked or took part in a kids’ parade.

Participants enjoy a healthy lunch sponsored by area restaurants, a beer garden, live music and a kids’ zone with a bouncy house.
