Help solve the mystery of Whitewater burials
Sgt. Lewis Farmer served in the 81st Illinois Infantry. Records show Sgt. Farmer arrived in the area in 1883 and homesteaded above Unaweep Canyon. There is a canyon named Farmer Canyon. A few years later he moved to the Kannah Creek area on the old Highway 50 and filed on a 320-acre homestead.
