Home improvement resources

I’m sure my husband and I aren’t the only ones trying to figure out how to make an old house more energy efficient.

New opportunities are cropping up daily for incentives, rebates, low and no-interest loans and more to encourage energy efficiency improvements.

For more information contact:

•  Housing Resources of Western Colorado: 241-2871, http://www.housingresourceswc.org.

•  Frostbusters & Coolth Inc.: 255-1122, http://www.frostbusters.com.

•  Xcel Energy: xcelenergy.com.

Local entities are learning how the Weatherization Assistance Program from the stimulus package will filter down to our area. I’ll keep you posted, as more information is available.
Don’t forget, March 6–8 is the 2009 Home Improvement & Remodeling Expo at Two Rivers Convention Center in Grand Junction.
Debbie Rich, executive officer for the Housing and Building Association of Northwestern Colorado, said 25 or 30 of the vendors would be featuring sustainable practices or products.
