Hiker’s body recovered from Jagged Mountain near Durango

DURANGO — The San Juan County Sheriff’s Office says a hiker fell several hundred feet to his death while climbing Jagged Mountain north of Durango.

The hiker’s identity and age were not released after Thursday’s accident.

According to newspaper reports, search and rescue members called a helicopter to retrieve the body.
