Patty and Scott Webb’s home at 2021 Paint Pony Court has a variety of native plants for color, variety and to attract birds. It was selected as the July Yard of the Month.

The July Yard of the Month winners are Patty and Scott Webb.

The Webbs have a beautiful yard at their 2031 Paint Pony Court home, with turf grass and a variety of plants exhibiting xeric qualities.

The couple worked closely with their landscape architect and landscape company that installed the yard in 2004.

The Webbs’ goal was minimal maintenance and water conservation. They chose native plants for the color and variety and to attract birds.

There is continual color throughout the seasons from the plants they selected.

Yard of the Month is presented by the Grand Junction Forestry Board, The Daily Sentinel and the city of Grand Junction.

Nominations for August Yard of the Month are due Aug. 24.

To qualify for Yard of the Month, the yard must be within the Grand Junction city limits. The front/side yards — what can be viewed from the street — will be judged on appearance, tidiness as evidenced by pruned, trimmed and shaped foliage, defined lawn, borders, flower bed and visual appeal.
