Here are some ideas for celebrating Halloween on Saturday, Oct. 31:
The Dracula Night Halloween Party will have costume contests every half hour starting at 7 p.m. and a bonfire at sundown at DoubleTree Hotel, 743 Horizon Drive. Dance to DJ Sway, and enjoy food and drink specials. Info: 241-8888.
The Boo Coo Jazz Band Masquerade Ball features costumes, live music, dancing, food and libations at Glenwood Springs Center for the Arts, 601 E. Sixth St., in Glenwood Springs. The fun will start at 7 p.m. Info: 945-2414, http://www.glenwoodarts.org.
The Halloween Costume Craze will feature DJs and a costume contest at Mesa Theater and Club, 538 Main St. The 11th annual event will begin at 9 p.m. Cost is $10, for the ages 21 and older party. Info: 241-1717, http://www.mesatheater.com.
Bears, Banshees and Witches ... Oh My will be hosted by Western Slope Bears with entertainment by DJ Phoenix and a costume contest at the Snowflake Bar and Grill, 539 Colorado Ave. The event will start at 9 p.m. Cost is $5 for the ages 21 and older event.
