Musician Michael G. Ronstadt comes from a family music tradition so deep it dates back five generations.

He plays the cello, guitar and sings and will perform with fellow musician David Trotta — the duo is named Trotta & Ronstadt — at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, KAFM Radio Room 1310 Ute Ave.

Michael G. is not to be confused with his dad, Michael J. Ronstadt, the younger brother of well-known musician Linda Ronstadt.

Michael G., his brother Petie and their father make up Ronstadt Generations, a multi-cultural roots group and just one of the music groups that keeps Michael G. busy, according to Ronstadt Generations performed a concert at the Radio Room in June.

Michael G. also is part of the versatile classical Suono Duo with Janet Marquardt on violin and Ronstadt on cello and guitar.

And then there’s Michael G.‘s solo career. He has been performing for 17 years in the United States, Canada and Mexico with musicians such as David Bromberg, Linda Ronstadt and Muriel Anderson, according to his website bio.

Tickets for Friday’s Trotta & Ronstadt concert are $15.
