New episode of ‘Glee’ airs post Super Bowl
Good news (and something to sing about)! After waiting almost two months, Gleeks can rejoice in a new episode of “Glee” Sunday night, Feb. 6, — the first new episode since Dec. 7. Apparently, there’s some sort of football game on beforehand.
The episode, called “The Sue Sylvester Super Bowl Shuffle,” airs at 8:30 p.m. Sunday on Fox after Super Bowl XLV. It will include Michael Jackson’s “Thriller,” series co-creator Ryan Murphy has confirmed. If the Internet is to be believed, “Thriller” will be featured in a mash-up with the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s “Heads Will Roll.” Also confirmed: Coach Bieste and Mr. Schuester team up the Glee Club and football team.
Regarding the episode, the Internet is abuzz with rumors that range from lucid to hysterical, among them:
Cheerios coach Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch) will make the three Cheerios-Glee Club girls choose one or the other.
The Cheerios will perform Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream.”
The Glee Club will perform during the half-time of a football game (possibly the aforementioned “Thriller” mash-up).
And! There’ll be a new “Glee” Tuesday, Feb. 8, too, during its regular, 7 p.m. slot on Fox. Titled “Silly Love Songs,” it has the Glee Club kids organizing a Valentine’s Day kissing booth.
