Obama daughters now living little girls’ fantasy
The consensus among the girls of Fruitvale Girl Scout Troop 1598 was that living in the White House would be great — most of the time.
On Tuesday, President Barack Obama was sworn into office, meaning his daughters Malia, 10, and Sasha, 7, live in a mansion with a private swimming pool, bowling alley and movie theater.
Local Girl Scouts Britney Bowker, 11, Alicia Eakle, 10, and Brittany Jones, 10, said one of the first things they would do in the White House was slide down stairs on a sled, mattress or giant plastic storage container.
Michaela Sweet, 10, celebrates her birthday Thursday. She already planned how she would party in the White House.
“I would invite all the kids in my class,” Michaela said. “We would swim, and we would have shrimp cocktail.”
The one thing the girls said they wouldn’t like about living in the White House was having Secret Service agents follow them around all the time.
But most of the girls said they would get over it for the chance to swim every day and throw huge parties,
“I know the place could hold a lot of people,” 12-year-old Jessica Hyde said.
“I would take advantage of all that’s there,” Christy Riddle, 10, said.
All eight girls at Tuesday’s meeting said they watched Obama’s inauguration at school.
Cristen McGregor, 9, said she would act like a princess. Marissa Siemers, 10, said she would order pancakes with chocolate chips from a personal chef.
