Outift: Gingham

Special to the Sentinel

Fabric has come a long way in the past century.

New fibers and techniques have transformed the way clothes fit and feel.

One thing that has not changed are traditional fabric patterns such as gingham.

This colorful checked pattern is easily recognizable and a must-have staple for both men and women this spring.

Men’s gingham button-down shirts look crisp and fresh paired with both jeans and khakis.

This slightly preppy pattern looks just as good on women as it does on men. Look for trench coats, handbags and lots of sundresses made of gingham.

If this look is a little too sweet, make it your own with edgy accessories.

A little bit country, but definitely chic, the trend for gingham is in full swing.
