Easter service planned on monument

Several Grand Valley United Methodist churches will host an Easter sunrise service at 6:30 a.m. Sunday at the Saddlehorn Amphitheater, at Colorado National Monument.

Sunrise service set for Suplizio Field

 

Grand Junction Ministerial Alliance will host an Easter sunrise service from 6:45–7:45 a.m. Sunday at Suplizio Field.

Dress warm for the early morning temperatures. In the event of inclement weather, the service will be in the Lincoln Park Barn.

Elm Baptist holds evangelism seminar

 

Elm Avenue Baptist Church, at the corner of 17th Street and Elm Avenue, will host its third seminar on Biblical Evangelism, April 24–26, titled “Recovering the Gospel: Evangelism in Sardis.”

The theme verse will be Revelation 3:3, “Remember, then, what you received and heard. Keep it, and repent.” The keynote speaker will be Pastor Randall Easter of Azle, Texas, who has traveled and preached with church pastor Paul Walker in Peru and Mexico.

Tasty fundraiser to eliminate malaria

 

Montrose United Methodist Church will have an authentic German dinner fundraiser at 5:30 p.m. April 26 at the church, 19 S. Park Ave.

Cost of the dinner is $15 per person. Proceeds will benefit Imagine No Malaria, a worldwide effort of the United Methodist Church, to eradicate malaria from the continent of Africa. Funds buy mosquito nets for children. Montrose United Methodist Church is half-way to its goal of raising $20,000 for the effort.

Right to Life explores adoption journey

 

Mesa County Right to Life will sponsor its seventh annual spring banquet and dinner at 6 p.m. May 2 at A Taste of Heaven, 2817 North Ave.

Guest speaker Jana Thomas will share the story of her family’s adoption journey. 

Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for teens and $50 for a family. Tickets must be purchased prior to the event. Call 242-3242 for information and tickets.
