Six-week spiritual class to be offered

Explore and Deepen your Experience of God, Self, Others, a six-week series of gathering for people of all faiths and cultural backgrounds, will be offered beginning Thursday.

The class, presented by the Benedictine Sisters Anne Brost and Mary Glenn, experienced spiritual directors, will focus on the experience of the divine, journaling, dreams, and integrating one’s story into the bigger picture.

The class will be offered from 6–9 p.m. Thursdays Feb. 14–28 and March 7–21, at the First Congregational Church, 1425 N. Fifth St.

Cost is $225.

Montrose church sets Lenten events


Montrose United Methodist Church will host a Fat Tuesday pancake supper from 5:30–7 p.m. Tuesday, at the church, 19 S. Park, in Montrose.

Cost is $5 per person or $15 per family.

Additional events for the Lenten season at the church are an Ash Wednesday Service at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday (nursery care for ages 5 younger), and themed services through Easter Sunday.

“Father, Forgive Them” will be Feb. 17; “Behold, Your Son,” Feb. 24; “My God, Why Have You Forsaken Me?” March 3; “Today, You Will Be With Me In Paradise,” March 10; “I Thirst,” March 17; and “Into Your Hands I Commit My Spirit” March 24.

An evening service March 29 is titled “It Is Finished,” and the Easter Sunday topic is “On the Road to Emmaus.”

Knights of Columbus to have fish fry


The Knights of Columbus Council 13621 will offer a fish fry from 4–7 p.m. Fridays, Feb. 15–March 22, during Lent, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 790 26 1/2 Road.

Cost is $8 for adults, $7 for ages 6–12 and free for children younger than 6. The meal features baked cod loin, breaded Pollock fish, green beans, mashed potatoes, French fries, clam chowder, coleslaw dessert and drinks.

Satsang Society to have HU Song


The Colorado Satsang Society, a chartered affiliate of Eckankar, is offering a HU Song event from 4–4:30 p.m. Feb. 17 at the Westwood Condos Clubhouse, 636 Horizon Drive.

HU is a love song to God and the event is for people of all faiths to enjoy together.
